Don’t Play Footsie with Cybercriminals
Enterprise Darknet Exposure Trends From the Criminal Underground
SpyCloud’s recent analysis of darknet exposures of global enterprises as a result of third-party breaches and malware-exfiltrated data reveals there are billions of corporate assets in criminals’ hands. Our team of security researchers uncovered 721 million exposed credentials and 22 billion device & session cookies globally, with 2.75 million of those plaintext passwords tied directly to FTSE 100 company employees, leading to thousands of sensitive cloud application exposures.
The breadth of these exposures combined with high rates of password reuse represent significant cyber risks for these organisations and the companies and consumers doing business with them.
View this webinar on-demand to see the top findings from our latest Identity Exposure Reports. VP of EMEA, Neill Cooper, and Solution Engineering & Investigations Manager, Mandeep Sandhu, will break down the globally relevant business-critical takeaways, including how:
- The 65% password reuse rate for FTSE 100 companies (and even higher for our global database) can lead to account takeover (ATO) and ransomware
- Compromised session cookies exfiltrated by malware lead to session hijacking, which poses a significant threat to enterprises
- One malware infection can lead to hundreds of exposed cloud applications
- Proper awareness, automated preventative response, and remediation of stolen data and malware-infected devices lead to better security defenses, no matter the industry or sector
With millions of global enterprise employee identities exposed, it’s imperative that security teams act quickly on what cybercriminals have in hand to neutralize their risk of cyberattacks stemming from the use of this stolen data.
